When it came to a heading for this review, luke warm is the only word that stuck, the book was ok, you could tell that there had been quite a bit of research and the plot wasn't bad, but there were several sections where it just read like a narration, the characters never really came to life which is a shame
There are better genealogical mysteries out there. I was really disappointed in this book. I struggled to get through it. The writing style makes it hard to enjoy. The players are contrived and seem to move about like robots. The dialog is contrived and almost child-like. The ending is ridiculous in how the big murder is resolved. Bottom line...everyone has different likes and dislikes but this book just left me wishing I hadn't spent the time to read it. But....read it if you want....you may love it.
Fun book, especially for a genealogist. There are many trails for the police to follow after a black-mailing librarian is murdered. The characters are interesting and the ones you think will wind up being suspects turn out to b e just what they appear to be while others don't. I could not put it down.
Was unable to figure out "who done it" until the end. There were allot of characters to keep straight I forgot who was who sometimes.
I couldn't read this book. The editing was terrible. In places with dialogue I couldn't figure out who was talking....they all ran together. At least sometimes it did and I just got tired of trying to figure out who said what.
This was a pretty good book with a good plot. But there was an issue with way it laid out on kindle. There were too many spaces between sentences and words ran together including after periods.
